I have just had the most amazing experience today. (technically yesterday for me, but whatever.) Today was the day that I went to the New York Anime Festival and the New York Comic Con combined. First off, it was extremely crowded... They even had to stop selling all Saturday and Weekend passes yesterday. So, anyway, I got to the con around 10am and my costume started falling apart a bit. I cosplayed Ultimo, of course. I'm the first in the US to my knowledge, so I will keep claiming it until proven wrong. XD Then around 12pm or so, I went to ask about getting Stan Lee's autograph today. Apparently the information posted on the official website was wrong and instead of having a line at 1pm for autograph tickets, they had a raffle at 10am for those tickets. The guy said he was sorry. Then he was like "She's not going to cry is she?" and of course I was in tears. I couldn't even bring myself to answer because I was so upset, so I tried to nod my head the best I could. It may seem childish, but my dreams were like, demolished right there. Then he left and came back with my golden ticket. I wiped my tears and started singing in my head. The Golden Ticket song from Willy Wonka, of course. Anyway, not only did I get that ticket, but I also was put near the front of the line to have more time with Stan Lee. When I got up there, I felt like I was going to faint, but I'm glad I didn't. Stan Lee said something along the lines of "Oh, look who we have here." which I got really happy about. I got my Ultimo vol 1 signed, right under Ultimo in the first picture with Ultimo and Vice. Then, as I got off, this girl asked me since I was in Ultimo cosplay to help promote Ultimo at the one booth, so I was dragged over there. Another girl took down my information at that booth and I'm going to get some free stuff sent to me. Don't know what that stuff is yet, which I'll tell you when I get it in a few weeks, but it's sure to be great. Anyway, they took me away from my dad's girlfriend there, so I went back to try finding her. I met an Ultimo fan that helped me contact her and find her, so that was good. I got the names of her and two of her friends, and she said she might cosplay Vice for me, so I'm finally going to be able to start that Ultimo cosplay group I have dreamed of. After I found my dad's girlfriend, I went to promote Ultimo again, and bought my Ultimo vol 2 as a souvenir. Random Ultimo volumes there contained golden tickets to get the signed set, reminding me again of Willy Wonka, but my volume I bought did not have it. I was fine though since I already was lucky enough to get Stan Lee's autograph in my first volume of Ultimo. Since I purchased a volume, I got a free bag that had Ultimo on it. It also had One Piece, Vampire Knight, and Kekkaishi in it, but I only really cared for Ultimo. Then inside this bag, I also got two things that said Pow on them, for Pow Entertainment. (And an Ultimo pin I found after I got home.) The Ultimo pin had the picture of Dunstan wearing the shirt that says I <3 (Japanese that I can't read. XD) so that made me excited. After that, I promoted Ultimo a little more, then went out to eat noodles, then I went home. I also got a wig cap, so no more bobby pinning my hair. XD Later, I will try to post the pictures I got when I get them, since I'm not the one that took them. I also got video of me meeting Stan Lee and getting his autograph. If I had thought of it, I would have asked for a hug or handshake or something, but I was so excited just meeting him that I didn't think of it. Next chance, if I have one. If not, at least I met him and got his autograph. Ultimo, cosplay, friends, and noodles; four of my favorite things in the whole world, and all in one day. I might get to go tomorrow, but if not, I got everything I wanted and more today. This blessing might have even been provided by Ultimo himself, which is what I would like to say since I don't really believe in any particular religion at the moment. Also, I told the people that I gave my contact info to that if she needed to promote Ultimo again, I would be glad to at least attempt to help, so I might be helping them with that some time in the future. So, this, to me, is an Ultimo miracle granted to me, and I will treasure it because not everyone would have been able to do this. I feel like this much happiness should be illegal. I wish I could have stayed at the con longer, but again, I got everything I wanted and more. My legs still hurt a bit, but "no pain, no gain." as they say. A ton of people took my picture and quite a few people were really excited to see an Ultimo cosplayer. The cons of this included over crowding and my gauntlets I had a friend make for me having technical issues, but to have so many pros in this, it's expected to have some cons for it. I think I would call this an Ultimo otaku's dream come true, and I hope that many other Ultimo fans can experience such happiness. So, what do you guys think? XD I know some of you might be bored of this, but it tells the tale of a fan of Ultimo having her dreams come true through unlikely means. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
